By connecting to this website, www.icom.museum and all pages in this domain (hereinafter collectively referred to as the “ICOM Website”), the user agrees to the following terms and conditions.

The International Council of Museums (hereinafter referred to as “ICOM”) reserves the right to invoke any remedy provided by law in the event of any breach of these terms and conditions, including any violation of ICOM’s right to its name or of the rights regarding information, documents, text, video or audio material or photographs (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Content”) found on the ICOM Website.

The section exhibition80.icom.museum is designed by Studio Plastac and developed by Studio Variable. It is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA.

1. The ICOM Website/exhibition80.icom.museum

a) Legal information

The ICOM Website is property of ICOM, a registered association (n° SIREN 784 614 813) located at 15, rue Lasson, 75012 Paris, France.

b) Use of the ICOM website

ICOM authorizes access to its website for personal or educational purposes only. Any other use, including the reproduction or translation of Content of the ICOM website or use for purposes other than personal or educational, is prohibited without the express prior written consent of ICOM. Requests for authorization must be sent using the form provided with a detailed description of the intended use. All Content of the ICOM website is protected by French copyright law. ICOM determines the Content of its website according to its own criteria and at its sole discretion. ICOM reserves the right to change or delete any aspect or element of its website at any time. ICOM makes no warranties or representations as to the accuracy or completeness of any Content.

ICOM disclaims all liability resulting from the use of the ICOM website or Content of the ICOM website. c) Interactive parts of the ICOM website

The ICOM Website may feature electronic bulletin boards, forums, access to mailing lists or other tools for sending messages or communicating. Opinions, views and statements from these various sources of information do not necessarily reflect the views of ICOM.
When using these tools, the user agrees: (a) not to perpetrate any action that is defamatory, abusive, harassing, invasive of privacy or otherwise violates the rights of any other person; (b) not to publish, post, distribute or disseminate any defamatory, obscene, indecent, infringing or otherwise unlawful information or material; (c) not to upload or transmit files containing software or other material protected by intellectual property (or privacy) laws unless the user owns or controls the rights thereto or has received all necessary permissions; (d) not to upload or transmit any files that contain computer viruses, corrupted files or any other software or programs that may damage the functionality of another person’s computer; (e) not to remove any author attributions, legal disclaimers, trade names or labels from a file that is uploaded; (f) not to falsify the source or origin of the software or other material contained in any file that is downloaded; (g) not to promote or offer to sell any goods or services, or conduct or forward surveys, contests, or chain letters; and (h) not to download any file provided by a third-party that the user knows, or reasonably should know, as not legally allowed to be distributed.

ICOM reserves the absolute right to delete any material posted on the ICOM Website without prior notice to the user. ICOM disclaims all responsibility for the conduct of users in connection with such tools or for any material provided by users and posted on the ICOM Website, including, for example, any responsibility for the reliability or truthfulness of any information, data, opinions, advice or statements appearing in such materials.

d) Cookies

A cookie is a piece of information that a website stores on the user’s computer and that the user’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor is connecting to it. The ICOM Website uses cookies to help identify users, their activities on the ICOM Website and their access preferences. a) Links on the ICOM Website

The ICOM Website may include links to other websites over which ICOM has no control. ICOM assumes no responsibility for these websites, including, for example, any responsibility for the truthfulness or reliability of the information, data, opinions, advice or statements published on them.

b) Links to the ICOM website

ICOM thanks users who create a link on their website – leading to the ICOM Website – for their interest in the organisation. By adding this link, users express their support for ICOM’s missions. If users wish to create a link to the ICOM Website, they are requested to contact ICOM in advance to allow administrative follow-up. They can then create a link to the home page or to a page within the Content. ICOM reserves the right to refuse links at any time. In this case, the site managers agree to remove the link immediately. Furthermore, as ICOM is a non-profit organisation, it does not allow the publication of a link on commercial pages of the websites. Finally, ICOM does not share, exchange or publish links to websites that are not its official partners’.

The use of a specific name to designate a country or territory and the maps on this site do not imply any judgement on the part of ICOM concerning the legal status of that country or territory, its institutions or governing authorities, or the delimitation of its frontiers or boundaries. ICOM refers to the Member States of the United Nations and the denomination recognized therein. The mention of the name of a company or product (whether or not it is specified that it is a registered trademark) does not imply any intention to infringe property rights, nor can it be interpreted as a promotion or recommendation on the part of ICOM.

a) ICOM – International Council of Museums

ICOM has exclusive ownership of its name and logo. The complex trademark ICOM – Conseil international des musées – International Council of Museums – Consejo internacional de los museos benefits from the rights granted by its registration with the European Union Office for Intellectual Property (EUIPO). ICOM’s name and logo may not be copied or reproduced under any circumstances without prior written permission from ICOM. Any request for permission must be sent to ICOM by email to secretariat@icom.museum.

b) Contents of the ICOM website

ICOM provides information on the Internet primarily for those interested in its efforts to ensure the preservation, conservation and transmission of cultural property. If the user wishes to draw on, reproduce, publish or translate this information for wider dissemination, he or she should send an e-mail to events@icom.museum with details of the intended use, including the nature and size of the target audience. The use of ICOM material on the Internet for any purpose whatsoever is prohibited without prior approval. ICOM reserves all its rights to its publications, their graphic charter and Content, as well as to its website, its Content and its graphic charter.
